At Harrybaker, we obsess about “Result”. We believe in Clarity (the Why and the What), Means (how you get things done is as important as the work itself and more important than the result.

We do not want to win at all costs – no corrupt practices, no prostitution, money laundering, etc.) and Result (we are metrics maniacs. Where and when you start or stop work (AKA 9 am to 5 pm) is less important to us, we are no government establishments!)

Clarity

1. Pursuit (Clear objectives, start with the end in mind):

We expect you to redefine every goal handed to you. You are a PSF (Professional Service Firm) and act as such. “Inc.” yourself. Turn each work assignment to a WOW project. Forget Tasks – Think projects!

2. Purpose (alignment at personal and organizational levels):

We expect team members to share our purpose about People, Process and Performance. Everything we do should be in this direction. As an individual, you have a clear life purpose. We do not want to find ourselves and colleagues in the same boat with anyone without a life purpose.

Means (How) - Execution is Everything

3. Passsion

We expect you to have fun working because that is what you are called to do, not the available job. We need to see the “will” because when there is a “will”, there will always be a way, otherwise, you will be unhappy and we want you to be happy. We redirect (let go) based on this to help people find their passion in life. We believe in Work-life balance and RENEWAL (7 Habits of Highly Effective People).

4. Professionalism

Expertise, Learning, Ethics and being Responsible are the rules of the game. We expect our members to be on top of their profession and be known as experts in their fields. We expect to see specific value every member brings to the team. You must be a specialist in one or more areas and play some other roles (Belbin). We don’t care about titles but we care about your market value, therefore we use titles. We don’t see you as employees but a ‘Brand’ that shouts distinction, commitment and passion! Pursue Mastery. No walk in the park: Professionalism demands a rich, diverse portfolio of skills. SELL, SELL, SELL! Your Expertise. Ethics is very dear to our heart. We obey letter laws and regulations. Learn from anyone, anywhere and anytime. Work on exposing yourself to cool stuff.

5. Partnership

We win as a team. We don’t like lone wolves. We love team players who will go an extra mile to help others and customers. We work in partnership with our teammates, customers, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders. Collaboration is another rule we obsess about. We value “Individuals and Interaction” over following processes and tools. Brand You is a team Sport! Do unto others what you will have them do to you.

6. Possibilities

Work on your Optimism. Spreaders of doom + gloom rarely attract followers here. Use the proof of your success to generate huge enthusiasm and convert the naysayers. We believe in the balance between Realism and Optimism. Remember leadership is me as a “Brand”. Leadership is independent of formal positions.

7. Performance

Submit to the Performance! Brand You is a performing art. “Ideas suck! Demos rule!” Bosses’ job here is turning “employees” into Performance Metrics Maniacs.
