History of Lean Six Sigma
Lean Six Sigma came into being as a result of the coming together of two methodologies which are: Lean manufacturing which was developed by automobile giant – Toyota, and Six Sigma which was developed by Motorola.
What is Lean Six Sigma?
Lean Six Sigma is a management approach to the way business is conducted and performance enhancement which has struck a balance between the areas of specialization of Lean and Sigma. These two methodologies are part of the most adopted strategies around the world and their success stories in different organizations abound.
It is focused more on quality management and how efficiency can be achieved within an organisation. It emphasizes speed, efficiency and reduction or elimination of waste in processes. Apart from these, it is centred on increasing effectiveness and elimination of errors. The certification can go a long way in helping organisations in improving their performance by providing a robust approach in problem resolution. Also, Lean Six Sigma can bring about radical improvement in both manufacturing and service industry.
Our Lean Six Sigma course is Accredited by APMG International – an accrediting body that coordinates a host of other globally recognised certification courses. APMG International is in partnership with LSSA to make the full suite of Lean Six Sigma available to intending candidates around the world.
Please note that candidates who enrol with us have the option of taking the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC) exam.
The training course can be taken by individuals who are involved in improving quality and business performance of their departments or organisations at all levels.
The following are the four levels of the certification:
- Yellow belt
- Orange belt
- Green belt
- Black belt
Lean Six Sigma Exam process
For candidates who enrol with us and interested in taking the APMG International exam, the exam will be sat in our office as we are authorized by APMG International to supervise the exam; being an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO).
For candidates who enrol with us and interested in taking the IASSC exam, the exam will be sat at a prometric exam centre at the scheduled date.
