What is Facilitation?

The facilitation certification course is structured to train individuals and organizations to achieve business outcomes by addressing business issues in groups and meetings. Participants will be taught how to lead and run successful meetings by being exposed to the skills and knowledge required. The tools and techniques which candidates will be exposed to by this certification course will help them lead meetings to achieve a consensus of synergy.

A skilled facilitator uses strategic questions to point a group towards collaboration in order to achieve its objectives. The course will equip candidates to design and facilitate sponsored events, understand the challenges faced in meetings, and navigate through all of this in order to get work done. The facilitation course is about helping groups achieve their objectives by equipping the facilitator to create the process through which the group finds answers to its issues. As the task at hand changes, the facilitator modifies the process to suit the current objectives.

Facilitation Accreditation

Harrybaker training Institute is fully accredited to train individuals and organizations on Facilitation certification by APMG, the licensed exam Institute. Harrybaker training Institute ensures that Facilitation certification is delivered with high standards.

History of Facilitation

The history of Facilitation can be traced to the late 1940s when the following institutions were established:   the  MIT  Research  Centre for Group  Dynamics and the  National  Training  Laboratory  (NTL)  in the  USA;  and the  Tavistock  Institute and the  Roffey  Park  Institute in the  UK. During this time, the framework of processes that laid the foundation for the field of facilitation was established. Subsequently, academic works were produced in the subject of facilitation such as John Heron’s “The Facilitator’s Handbook” which was published in 1989. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Facilitation became adopted as a formal education and training course.

As the number of facilitation professionals grew, several professional networks and associations emerged, such as the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) which was established in 1994. The work of the IAF has led to the development of certifications and a professional code of conduct for the Facilitation discipline.

Facilitation Qualification

The Facilitation certification is designed to train individuals to lead and run successful meetings. There are two qualifications available as follows

    Facilitation Foundation certification

    Facilitation Practitioner certification
