The Service Transition (ST) certification is one of five ITIL Service Lifecycle modules and provides you with the guidance that enables you to build and deploy IT services. Service Transition also makes sure that changes to services and Service Management processes are carried out in a coordinated way.

HARRYBAKER accredited ITIL Service Transition (ITIL ST) provides guidance on how the requirements of Service Strategy encoded in Service Design are effectively realized in Service Operations while controlling the risks of failure and disruption. The publication combines practices in Release Management, Programme Management and risk management, and places them in the practical context of Service Management. It provides guidance on managing the complexity related to changes to services and Service Management processes – preventing undesired consequences while allowing for innovation.

  • Release and Deployment Management: Objective: To plan, schedule and control the movement of releases to test and live environments.
  • Service Validation and Testing: To ensure that deployed Releases and the resulting services meet customer expectations, and to verify that IT operations is able to support the new service.
  • Service Asset and Configuration Management: To maintain information about Configuration Items required to deliver an IT service, including their relationships.
