What is COBIT5?
COBIT5 is the most recent version of the Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT) framework. COBIT5 training provides definition to a set of best practices for the management, control, and governance of Information Technology (IT) systems with the goal of creating a sync between IT and business.

COBIT5 History
COBIT (Control Objectives for information and related technologies) was created and released in 1996 by ISACA, an international professional association for IT governance. The initial release was designed to help the audit community better integrate with IT environments. Various versions have been released since then I’m line with new developments and guidelines. The current version, COBIT5 was released in April 2012 and has had two add-ons: First in December 2012 on information security, and then June 2013 on assurance. COBIT5 aligns with other existing IT standards such as ISO, ITIL, and is currently the only framework for the governance and management of Enterprise IT.

The Foundation course has no specific requirements except that candidates undergo the required training. Is the fee for the exam and training combined?
No, the training and the exam are two different packages. Therefore, the exam fee is not included in the training fee and vice versa.
What is the duration of the training?
The training lasts for only three days. During this period, the trainer covers extensively the entire COBIT 5 syllabus and even has enough time for revisions.
What time does the training starts and ends each day?
The training starts by 8:30 am and ends by 5:00 pm with tea and lunch breaks in between. Participants are admonished to arrive latest by 8:20 am
Does the exam come immediately after the training?
Yes for those who are ready to take the exam after the training and NO for those who are not ready. Persons who are not ready can choose a later date that will be convenient for them.
What are study options available for the COBIT5 course?
It depends on the qualification being carried out. Details of study options for specific COBIT5 qualifications are as follows:
The Foundation qualification has options for Accredited training organizations (ATOs), external group study, self-study, and practice exams.
The Implementation, Assessor, Assessor for security and Implementing the NIST standards using COBIT5 qualifications have the option of classroom course only.
How do I get my certificate?
Your electronic certificate will be available to download from the candidate portal and your name added the successful candidate database. Paper certificates are available on request.
For how long are the certificates valid?
There is no defined validity period for certificates, and they do not expire.
